OUR VISION
Through the power of sports, health, and education, we aim to create an environment where tomorrow’s leaders, thinkers, athletes, doctors, engineers, and more can blossom.
Our goal is to empower these children and provide them with a fighting chance at a successful future.
OUR OBJECTIVES
BUILD THE WHY NOT ME CENTER
The Why Not Me (WNM) Center will be a new, full-scale recreational center in Linguère, with education & sports facilities, community areas, first aid services, and a dining hall.
Raising the necessary funds to build the WNM Center is our primary goal in 2026. The WNM Center will serve as focal point for all WNM daily operations, programs, special events & camps.
In 2024, Why Not Me acquired 1.2 Acres of land to build the facility and the goal is to begin construction of the WNM center by 2026.
Estimated Budget: $2,000,000
GROW CURRENT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
We are currently serving 255 boys and girls across grades 1st to 10th—120 Talibè boys across 4 Daara’s and 135 girls.
In 2024, we increased our Girl Power program by 43 girls. In 2025, our goal is to take on another 30 girls and 80-120 boys by adding more grades, classes, and Daara’s.
Estimated Budget: $1,000,000
INCREASE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Why Not Me Events continue to invigorate our community in Linguere and shape the foundation of our mission.
Given the success of the Talibé mini–World Cup and Girl Power Events, our goal is to host 10 special events a year to bring the community together and highlight the progress of all Why Not Me participants.
Through 2026, our goal is to continue diversifying our events, providing seminars on physical and mental health, creative arts, and, of course, more sports!
Estimated Budget: $100,000
IMPROVE TALIBE CONDITIONS
In 2024, Why Not Me completed renovations at four Daara’s in Linguère. Due to collaborative efforts with local leaders, our goal is to renovate previously inaccessible Daara’s where the Talibé boys continue to live in rough conditions in need of dire improvements.
Estimated Budget: $30,000
